Bio

LYNN RAVEN was born and raised in the horse country of northern Virginia just outside Washington, D.C. Throughout her teenage years, she competed as an equestrian in the Mid-Atlantic region while attending school, assisting in the family business of managing horse shows, and often writing short stories for school publications.

Upon graduating from the University of Colorado-Boulder, Lynn headed west to Los Angeles. She worked as an entertainment publicist for nearly twenty years for such companies as National Geographic Television, Sesame Street Workshop, plus numerous network, syndicated, and cable television projects. She was the Associate Director of Public Relations at The Paley Center for Media (formerly The Museum of Television & Radio) where she increased the visibility of the institution and its keynote television festival, the annual William S. Paley Television Festival, by more than 50% during her tenure.

In addition to writing professionally, Lynn has written several feature film screenplays. She was a finalist for the Diane Thomas Screenwriting Award at UCLA and the Houston International Film Festival as well as a semi-finalist in America's Best Screenwriting Contest and the Chesterfield Writer's Film Project. She continued to develop her writing credentials by studying professional and non-fiction writing at UCLA.

Lynn recently finished "The Reluctant Farmer of Whimsey Hill" with her parents which is about their love & trials of starting a farm out of a field and how the residents of that farm changed their lives forever.

Retiring from show biz, Lynn now lives in Central Virginia between Richmond and Charlottesville with three energetic dogs, two lazy cats, eight rowdy chickens, and one tenacious wild raccoon. Currently she is the Food Pantry Manager and Communications Associate at the Goochland Free Clinic & Family Services, which seeks to provide access to health care and basic human services to Goochland residents in need. Her volunteer work ranges from giving blood to social media assistance to therapeutic equine activities for individuals with special needs.
